Ministries

Nursery

Mat 19:14 "But Jesus said, suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven."

As a church, we invite children of all ages to be a part of the growing, thriving ministry of our church. With spaces for newborns and toddlers in our nursery and classes for preschoolers and elementary school every Sunday morning, we welcome your entire family to take part in learning and growing towards Christ as a part of our faith-community.

Children

Pro 22:6 "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it."

Wednesday Night Bible Club – On Wednesday nights children in grades 4-6 are led in all sorts of activities to include choir singing, Bible stories, memory verses, games and crafts.

Teen

"Let no man despise thy youth, but be thou an example of the believers." ~ 1 Tim 4:12

Elgin Missionary Baptist student ministry is designed to help middle school and high school students grow their faith, their character, and their relationships. It’s about creating an atmosphere that is Christ-focused where they can belong. We encourage our youth to be involved in everything we do from inviting, participating in activities and serving.

Outreach

Psa 40:9-10 "I have preached righteousness in the great congregation: lo, I have not refrained my lips, O
LORD, thou knowest. I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness
and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great congregation."

Outreach is a very important part of the Great Commission and this allows all our members to participate in the distribution of the gospel message to our community.

The Purpose of our outreach is to make sure every home in our ministry area will receive the gospel message and that Jesus Christ can save them if they believe in Him and receive Him as their Savior.

On Saturday at 10:00 am we canvas certain areas around our Church sharing gospel tracts and speaking Bible truth to anyone we meet. Based on the responses at the door we will follow up with those that seemed interested in the gospel, our church etc..

Missions

Isa 52:7 "How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!"

At this time, we support 4 Missionary families around the world and are looking to support more as our family grows. As part of our answer to the Great Commission, Elgin currently supports the Ministries below through prayer and financial means.

Visitation

Heb 10:25 "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching."

If a member is in the Hospital, home bound or unable to physically go to services, an effort is made by either the Pastor, a Deacon or a lay member to reach out by phone or in person for encouragement, prayer and to see if needs are being met. It’s always a blessing to know someone cares and is thinking and praying for you in your time of need.
